Pain Management Specialist

Dr. Christopher Gleis is the Pain Management Specialist at Genesis Brain Institute, based on the principle that healing pain supports brain health.

A Bay Shore, NY native, Dr. Gleis graduated with high honors from Colorado State University and earned his medical degree from Ross University.

He completed his internship at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, residency in Anesthesiology at the University of Massachusetts (where he was Chief Resident), and a fellowship in pain management at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Board-certified and Florida-licensed, Dr. Gleis uses a multimodal, non-narcotic approach to treat pain.

He is active in several professional societies and has extensive experience in addiction medicine, including serving as medical director for a leading treatment center.

Clinical Neuroscientist and Functional Neurologist

Dr. Emily Kalambaheti is the Director of Rehabilitation at Genesis Brain Institute. Known affectionately as “Dr. K” or “Dr. Emily,” she has extensive training in functional neurology, clinical neuroscience, and neurochemistry through the Carrick Institute, where she also serves as a regular lecturer on neurological receptor-based rehabilitation.
She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Chiropractic Neurology, a Fellow of the American College of Functional Neurology, a Functional Medicine Hyperbaric Clinician, and a licensed Diplomate of Quantitative Electroencephalography.

Medical Director Board Certified Neurosurgeon

I am a board-certified neurosurgeon with twenty-five years of practice in general adult neurosurgery. Biomechanical opinions are based upon a BSc (Hon) in Applied Mathematics, an MSc in Physics, and a Ph.D. in Medical Biophysics. I have been retained as an Expert Witness in over 100 cases spanning 17 states with many repeat customers.

Mental Health Counselor (Affiliated Provider)

Nichole Venegas is a dedicated mental health provider with a passion for creating a safe space for individuals to breathe, be heard, and reflect on life’s journey. Her counseling style is characterized by warmth, empathy, encouragement, and interactivity, employing a client-centered approach. Nichole incorporates various therapeutic modalities, including CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Exposure Therapy (ERP). Nichole is also EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) certified, further enhancing her ability to support clients through trauma-focused treatment.

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Affiliated Provider)

Dr. Craig Jorden Jr., “Dr. J,” is a dedicated healthcare professional with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from South University and advanced degrees from the University of South Alabama, where he earned both a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). A board-certified Mental Health Nurse Practitioner licensed in Florida and Massachusetts, Dr. J is also an Air Force Reserve Captain and combat veteran. His military service enhances his extensive experience in mental health, providing unique insights into the challenges faced by service members and veterans. With nine years of experience in diverse clinical settings, including acute inpatient crisis stabilization, partial hospitalization programs, foster care homes, and outpatient private practice, Dr. J strives to make a positive impact in his community through a holistic, evidence-based approach.

Chiropractic Neurologist (Affiliated Provider)

Dr. Brittany Forrester is a Doctor of Chiropractic, a diplomate of the American Chiropractic Neurology Board, and a Fellow of the American College of Functional Neurology. She graduated magna cum laude from Life University College of Chiropractic in Marietta, GA, and has additional training in functional neurology from the Carrick Institute.

Dr. Forrester is originally from South Georgia and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Georgia Southern University in Communications and Public Relations with an emphasis in Kinesiology. She examines and treats patients with neurological conditions including but not limited to autism spectrum disorder, post-concussion syndrome, traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, mild cognitive impairment, Parkinson’s disease, movement disorders, and hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy.

Sandi’s extensive experience, compassion, and commitment to excellence make her a trusted and respected healthcare professional.

Gregory T. Heckroth, Founder of Genesis Brain Institute, brings over 30 years of healthcare experience and a visionary perspective. He noticed alarming trends in mental health, prompting him to take action. With a mission of “Not One More,” he spearheaded the establishment of one of the world’s first comprehensive Brain Labs. Gregory’s commitment earned him the 2022 Member of the Year award from “Business By The Book” Christian business group. He actively serves on the boards of Tampa Fellowship Christian Athletes and Trinity Security Allies, reflecting his dedication to community service. Through Genesis Brain Institute and his involvement in various organizations, Gregory demonstrates a holistic approach to mental healthcare, blending chaplaincy and mental health coaching to uplift individuals and communities.

Dr James Majorana

Dr. James Majorana is a distinguished chiropractor and a graduate of Life University. He possesses extensive expertise in diverse clinical environments. His professional journey has taken him to multi-disciplinary clinics and urgent care medical facilities, where he has adeptly managed musculoskeletal conditions ranging from soft tissue injuries to disk-related problems. As one of the owners of Genesis Brain Institute, Dr. Majorana has played a pivotal role in transforming lives through innovative therapies. His profound personal experience fuels his dedication; when his son was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma at the tender age of 7, undergoing two years of chemotherapy led to severe psychological challenges, including PTSD, anxiety, and depression. Witnessing the immense impact of GBI therapy on his son’s recovery, Dr. Majorana became deeply committed to the institute’s mission. Today, his son Jake has triumphed over his psychological struggles, a testament to the effectiveness of GBI therapy, and a driving force behind Dr. Majorana’s unwavering involvement with the company.

Sean protects our vision, reinforces our foundation and ensures we advance with wisdom, biblical conviction and confidence. When decisions matter, we make them with clarity and with counsel.

José E. Cabrera

Research Consultant

José E. Cabrera is a Research Consultant that focuses on developing human trials and research design strategies that clinically validate GBI’s multi-modal, innovative treatment protocols which are intended to provide the most patient-centric and the most desirable clinical outcomes.

During his 25+ years as a medical device research professional, José has overseen clinical research strategy development for over a dozen start-up medical device companies, as well as managing global clinical, regulatory and quality assurance teams for large med device multinationals in cardiology, neurology and orthopedics.

Jose attended the University of Dallas in Irving, TX and completed his degree in cellular biology with a primary interest in neurophysiology with particular interest in early hominid development of consciousness. He is also a US Army veteran having served (during peacetime) as an Air Assault/Infantry Medic with the 101st Airborne Division – 1st/327th Infantry. Jose has been a life-long Florida resident and currently resides in Palm Beach Gardens.
